Summer Series 2024 championship final results

Hi all,

We would like to thank everyone that supported the Summer Series, that includes the competitors, observers, working parties and land owners.

The series championship rules and how we have decided to do the awards are below.

Expert class

Martyn Rushbrook is the winner of the Expert class and is the Summer Series Champion by counting two wins and two second places

Clubman class

Anthony Slater took the win in the Clubman class by counting three wins

Aaron Brock took second place with two wins and a second place

Twinshock class

Craig Crowfoot won the Twinshock class by counting three wins

Novice class

Mark Richards won the Novice class by counting one win and two second places

Dale Williams took second place by counting one win, one second and one fifth place

Sportsman class

Steven Brock won the Sportsman class by counting two wins and a third place

Gerald Turner took second place with one win, one third and one fourth place

Youth B class – Hard route

Daniel Adcock won by counting three wins

Youth B class – Middle route

Tommy Goodwin won by counting two wins and a second place.

Summer Series Championship rules.

The Summer Series is held over four rounds.

Points are awarded to the top ten finishers of each class starting at 10 points for first, 9 points for second down to 1 point for tenth place.

To qualify for the championship the entrant must have completed a minimum of 3 rounds in one of the classes, if 4 rounds were completed then the lowest score is not counted.

Tiebreaks are resolved by comparing the number of highest places in single events.

Awards

Awards are based on the number of qualifiers for each class

1-4 qualifiers                    First place only

5-9 qualifiers                    First and second place

10+ qualifiers                   First, second and third

 

Results for Summer Series #4

The final round of the Summer Series at Honeydon saw 35 riders compete in very different conditions to last time with all dry sections and hot, sunny weat her.

Expert Class

Craig Farrer took the win dropping only 2 marks

Martyn Rushbrook took the second spot with 11 marks lost

Martin (Bruce) Alderman came in third on 30 marks

 Clubman Class

Anthony Slater had a great ride keeping clean on the middle route

Aaron Brock came in second on 2 marks

Stephen Cooper and John Hayden tied for third place on 4 marks, all of which were single dabs

Twinshock class

Nicholas Wilford took the win on 2 marks lost

Craig Crowfoot came in second on 5 marks lost

Novice Class

Simon Hood won on 13 marks lost

Mark Richards took second on 14 marks

Richard Osborn came in third on 18 marks

 

Sportsman Class

Stephen Brock won on 8 marks lost

Bryan Dix took second on 9 marks lost

Gerald Turner came in third on 11 marks lost

 

Youth B (Hard route)

Daniel Adcock won on 21 marks lost

 

Youth B (Middle route)

Tommy Goodwin won on 19 marks lost

 

Thank you to all that took part in the summer series and we hope you all enjoyed it.

 

The club would like to thank the working party for setting out the sections, our superb observers who give up their time to enable us to have our fun and last but not least the land owner.

 

Our next event is the Ken Wood Trial on the 29th September, venue to be confirmed, entries will be open at the end of August on the ACU site.
