Chris Wood Trial Results 2022

Attached results of Sundays trial which you have probably already seen from Dale on Facebook.  Obviously the weather took its toll despite the extensive efforts on Sunday morning to ease the sections. Thanks must go to the few Club members who worked extremely hard on 2 Saturdays marking out. Unfortunately it was in the main the same members that were left to clear up at the end of the day.

I regret I was not very active on the day but did manage in advance to recruit the observers and all 20 sections were manned.  What a big thank you we should give to these brave souls for sticking to their posts despite the deluge in the middle of the day.

The Cutting is always a testing venue and the extreme conditions made the sections very slippery.  Understandably there were 21 retirements and unfortunately two nasty accidents requiring hospital attention.  We sincerely hope their injuries are not serious. (PS Both myself and Trevor are at home now with no lasting injuries. Thank you very much for all the help and support we received)

Clerk of the Course, Nick Wilford, said this was the worst conditions he had ever encountered and it was only team work which enabled the trial to take place.

From the comments received it appears the experts and better riders enjoyed the challenge, for those that struggled I am sorry but one thing we can’t influence is the weather.

Thanks again to ALL involved – a great job done.

Colin

Chris Wood Trial 2022

Entries are now open for the Chris Wood Trial at Hinxton on Sunday 6th November.  This is one of our premier events and incorporates a round of the South Midland Expert, Intermediate and Novice Championships.

The Hinxton Cutting is a fabulous piece of ground well suited to this championship trial.  Classes include Expert, Expert B, Intermediate, Novice, Clubman and Twinshock, run over 2 routes plus 50/50.

Please note there is no third route i.e. no sportsman class.

It is a 2 lap course of 20 sections therefore will need 20 observers.  Perhaps some of you who ride the sportsman class could come along and observe and watch some of the Centres best Experts performing.

Please let me know if you can observe.
